Thanksgiving 2023 at the Border: Laughlin AFB
USO San Antonio had the honor of providing a festive dinner to over 200 service members s stationed at the southern border, to include Laughlin Air Force Base, Del Rio. These brave men and women, committed to keeping our nation safe, were unable to be with their families during the holiday due to the critical nature of their work. In the spirit of gratitude, the amazing staff and volunteers of the USO came together to express our appreciation and ensure that they felt the warmth of a Thanksgiving celebration. The event was a resounding success, filled with laughter and the joy that comes from sharing a delicious meal. The USO would also like to extend our deepest gratitude to USAA for the support of this amazing event, making this Thanksgiving a memorable and meaningful experience for those who sacrifice so much. Together, we showed that, even in challenging times, the spirit of gratitude and community can bridge the gap and bring joy to those who serve our nation selflessly.
